As always we will installing PHP from the package system using pkg_add magic.
Currently the latest PHP version for OpenBSD 5.2 is 5.3.14 which I think is ok for any web application out there.
Let r0ck!
/* Installing PHP
#pkg_add -i php
Ambiguous: choose package for php
a 0:
1: php-5.2.17p12
2: php-5.3.14p1
Your choice: 2
Everything will be install except extension that you might want to install later.
The PHP binary will be install in /usr/local/bin/php-5.3
If you don't like to use php-5.3 you can simply create a symbolic link with any name that you want like just a php only without 5.3 thingy.
/* Installing additional PHP extension.
You can browse the pre compiled package at
(Mirror example)
ftp://ftp.jaist.ac.jp/pub/OpenBSD/5.2/packages/i386/
Let's say we want to install GD library
#pkg_add php-gd-5.3.14p0
Create a symbolic link
ln -sf /etc/php-5.3.sample/gd.ini /etc/php-5.3/gd.ini
View the install extension
#php-5.3 -m
Done :)
